Research

During the Spring 2022 semester I became involved in the ongoing UF Great Florida Spitting Contest research project under the guidance of Dr. Jennifer Drew in the UF Department of Microbiology and Cell Science. This project seeks to understand the connection between an individual's genome and their dietary/health status. In this research group I analyzed genomic data that had been sequenced from UF students and used statistical tools to search for correlations between data and diet/mental health survey responses. This field of research has the potential to make a tremendous impact on the future of personalized medicine and the optimization of human health and performance.
